The importance of celebrating diversity in the legal calendar
The Law Society is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and creating a profession that reflects the multi-racial society it serves.
BAME lawyers make up 16.5% of practising solicitors. One way of highlighting the positive contribution ethnic minority lawyers make to the profession is through celebrating diversity in the legal calendar.
Black History Month, Eid, Diwali and Chinese New Year are all occasions we share with members from BAME communities.
These events are also an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of diversity within the legal sector and wider community.
