JLD annual essay writing competition 2020 - now open

The Junior Lawyers Division essay competition 2020 is now open. The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday 17 April 2020.

The Junior Lawyers Division essay competition 2020 is now open and this year’s title is:

Is there a role for the legal profession in environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations?

The essay should be no more than 2,000 words not including references, footnotes and headings. Closing date for submissions is 5pm on Sunday 31 May 2020.

The winner will receive a cash prize of £500 and an invitation to attend the JLD annual conference on 16 May 2020 at the Law Society.

Who can enter

The competition is open to those with the status of solicitor apprentice, LPC student, LPC graduate or trainee solicitor as of 31 May 2020.

Unfortunately, the competition is not open to LLB/law students/graduates or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) students/graduates, as they are not part of the JLD membership.

Send your essay to juniorlawyers@lawsociety.org.uk stating whether you're a solicitor apprentice, LPC student, LPC graduate or trainee solicitor.
