JLD essay competition 2019 – winners announced

The JLD is very pleased to announce the results of the 2019 JLD essay competition.

“What’s in a name? Is the title of solicitor still relevant?”

Winner: Charlene Hamilton, trainee solicitor, Preston

Highly commended: Helen Broadbridge, trainee solicitor, London; Isaac Creighton, trainee solicitor, London

Commended: Amritpal Grewall, Jessica Mason, Julia De Oliveira, Oluwatobi Taiwo

Judging panel

The entries were judged by a panel consisting of:

  • Charlotte Parkinson: Chair, Junior Lawyers Division
  • David Greene: vice president, the Law Society
  • Chris Randall: chief executive, Mayo Wynne Baxter solicitor, and non-executive director of the SRA

Charlotte Parkinson, chair of the JLD, says:
