Two leading experts in Legal Education, Andy Unger and Alan East discuss training methods and give an update on the SQE.


  • Andy Unger, Associate Professor & Head of the Law Division, London South Bank University

Andy qualified as a solicitor and worked in a London legal aid practice before taking up teaching full-time at LSBU. He teaches human rights, medical law & ethics and Law & Technology. He is a former President of the South London Law Society and the Young Solicitors Group.

  • Alan East, chair of the Education and Training Committee and a Law Society Council member

Alan is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy and assistant professor at Coventry University. Alan is an innovator in legal education researching the use of technology such as robots and mobile remote telepresence devices. Alan started his legal career as a defence duty solicitor and senior crown prosecuto
