Cheshire brine searches no longer with Coal Authority

Due to the presence of brine subsistence in parts of Cheshire, enquiries can be made about past claims, compensation history and other matters. If the property is in the Cheshire Brine Compensation District or within a Consultation Area, information about this can be obtained.

From 1 June 2018 you will no longer be able to make a search relating to Cheshire brine or salt through the Coal Authority. The Coal Authority will continue to supply information on past, present and future coal mining activities in the CON 29M, additional environmental information in the Environ All-in-One report, produced jointly with Groundsure, and additional natural causes of subsidence in their Ground Stability report.

The Cheshire Brine Compensation Board, through their sole supplier Groundsure, will be providing brine and salt information. The new search will be known as the Cheshire Salt Search.

You will be able to order your searches through your usual suppliers or through the Groundsure website.
