Q&A with Adele Edwin-Lamerton
You're talking to a friend of a friend at a party. How do describe what you do?
I’m an employment lawyer. I help people to manage their working relationships and understand their legal obligations.
What was your first job?
Supermarket checkout operator at (the now defunct) Somerfields.
Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset. The colours of the sky are wonderful. If I see sunrise it almost always involves a distinct lack of sleep.
What's in your desk drawers?
Snacks (lots). Pens, pencils, highlighters and at least one of every stationery item (I am a stationery addict). High heeled shoes. Carrier bags.
Share some great advice you've been given.
Listen twice as much as you speak.
How do you relax?
By watching the omnibus of Coronation Street. That way, I know it’s the weekend. During the week I usually eat chocolate.
What's your pet hate?
Cyclists on pavements.
Favourite city?
Sydney Australia.
What book is on your bedside table?
It’s on my Kindle app, but it’s The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter. She writes engrossing crime fiction.
How would you spend your last £5?
Coffee and cake.
Favourite TV box set?
So, so many to choose from but it has to be The Walking Dead.
Seaside or mountains?
Seaside without a doubt. I love the sound of the ocean.
Hidden talents
I can rap Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby word for word.
