Fiona Woolf lecture 2020: The challenges of intersectionality

This year's Fiona Woolf lecture was titled: “The challenges of intersectionality – why are there so few black women lawyers in senior leadership roles in the legal profession and what can we do to change this?”

This annual event celebrates the achievements of Dame Fiona Woolf and other inspirational women who have reached senior positions within the profession.

We've led the way as a thought leader on gender equality and have played a key role in highlighting the lack of women in leadership roles. The lecture picks up this theme through the intersectional lens and looks at:

  • black women as leaders
  • why diversity in leadership is important
  • the barriers to women in leadership and how those barriers can be overcome
