Improving flexible working in law firms

A major survey of leading lawyers commissioned by the Law Society found that firms who have adopted flexible working practices allow a better work-life balance, and are attracting more talented staff. The report's main messages were:

  • Firms should set themselves targets to drive culture change.
  • Adopting a flexible working culture will help to keep more women engaged on the right career track.
  • Flexible working take-up should be measured and reported.
  • Clients are becoming key players in leading by example and demanding more diversity in law firms.
