Law Society evidence to the International Trade Select Committee on EU trade agreements after Brexit

12 January 2018

In December, the Law Society submitted written evidence to the House of Commons International Trade Committee as part of its inquiry into how the UK can replicate the rights it currently has under EU trade agreements after Brexit.

The submission examines several areas, including the potential consequences if the UK ceased to be a party to the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to which the EU is a party, the EU’s Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada and agreements with other third countries, and whether these agreements will apply to the UK during any transition period.
