AI is increasingly affecting competition law enforcement, both for practitioners advising clients on AI-related competition risk, and those who use AI as a tool within competition practice.

The Law Society Competition Conference will offer a panel session which examines how competition authorities are approaching AIrelated conduct, drawing on recent and ongoing cases involving Meta and Google.

Panellists will explore emerging theories of harm, interim measures, remuneration and compensation debates, and how UK and EU enforcement may evolve as markets and policies continue to develop

The Law Society Competition Conference 2026 will cover a range of important topics in competition law, including:

  • AI and competition law

  • A keynote session with an update from the CMA's General Counsel (Chris Prevett) andExecutive Director for Consumer Protection (Emma Cochrane)

  • FDI

  • Cartel enforcement and horizontal co-operations

  • Mergers – the New Merger Guidelines

  • Consumer protection

  • In-house competition practice

  • The Enforcers Roundtable

With draft merger guidelines expected imminently, this session explores how evolving policy priorities are shaping merger assessment and remedies.
