Freelance solicitors

Under the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, solicitors can work and offer services to the public outside the traditional legal entity models.

This practice note focuses on the freelance solicitors’ model. This way of working is a practice pathway that did not exist for solicitors before 25 November 2019.

This practice note is the Law Society’s view of good practice in this area, and is not legal advice. For more information, see the legal status.
