Peter Watson-Lee is a consultant with Williams Thompson Solicitors LLP, a medium-sized high street practice in Christchurch, Dorset.

He was a partner and senior partner at the firm during years of boom and bust, legal aid franchises and increasing SRA regulation. He specialised in family law work, with some private client.

Peter was a Law Society Council member from 1994 to 1998, when the profession was still self-governing and before the invention of the SRA, and when the Society was having annual elections for president.

He went on to chair the Family Law Committee and subsequently served on a number of specialist family law boards.

He is an active member of the Bournemouth and District Law Society and was president in 2007.

He returned to Council in October 2020 and was elected chair of the Law Society Membership and Communications Committee (MCC) in January 2022. He is also on the Board of the Law Society.

Peter’s focus is for the MCC to continue to develop a number of projects to improve engagement between the Law Society and its members, as well as with the numerous solicitor communities and societies that exist.
