Sairah Javed
Council member for Immigration
Sairah Javed is a dedicated solicitor and senior caseworker at the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI). Her practice is focused on providing quality representation to the most vulnerable and marginalised.
Sairah holds IAAS Level 2 accreditation and supervises fellow colleagues, bringing over 14 years of experience in immigration and asylum law to her role.
Her practice focuses on complex immigration matters, including migrant workers’ rights, article 3 and 8 human rights claims, indefinite leave outside the rules and adult dependent relative applications.
At JCWI, she plays a key part in the 'Work It Out' campaign advocating for fair treatment of migrant workers and also advises UNISON members through their immigration helpline.
Sairah is active in tribunal advocacy, representing clients before both the First-tier and Upper Tribunals.
Beyond casework, she writes for legal commentary platforms such as Free Movement, contributing insights on nationality, settlement and human rights law and delivers trainings on various topics.
Known for her compassionate approach, Sairah is committed to helping vulnerable and marginalised individuals navigate the UK’s immigration system and gain access to justice.
