Scott Bowen qualified in 2002 and has worked in criminal legal aid since. He is a duty solicitor and obtained his higher rights of audience (criminal) in 2010. Scott is based in Newport, South Wales but practises at courts across England and Wales.

Scott practises mainly in the Crown Court as an advocate but he also undertakes attendances at police stations and the magistrates' court.

He was a partner in a firm from 2005 until 2015, when it ceased to do criminal law, and joined a firm in Cardiff.

Scott moved back to Newport (his hometown) in 2017 to join a legal aid firm before moving to his current practice and away from legal aid funded crime.

He was elected to Council in a contested election in 2019 and has been connected to the Law Society since 2015 through his committee appointments.
