Welsh language SQE

All SQE assessments may now be taken in Welsh.

SQE1

The SQE1 assessment can be taken in Welsh at any assessment centre.

SQE2

The SQE2 assessments can currently be taken in Welsh in the April and October SQE2 assessment windows only. The SRA is keeping this under review.

The written assessments can be taken at any assessment centre, but the oral assessments can only be taken in Welsh in one oral sitting per assessment window at the test centre in Cardiff. The dates for this sitting will be available on the SQE website when the booking window opens.

Candidates can choose to take the whole or part of the assessment in Welsh. For example, it is possible to take the written assessments in English and the oral assessments in Welsh, or vice versa.

Arrangements for sitting in Welsh

Candidates wishing to sit all or part of their SQE assessments in Welsh must give advance notice confirming their intention to do so and will be contacted by the Kaplan SQE team, who will make arrangements.

The Advance Notice Form is available on the SQE website.
