After migrating from India, I attended a local comprehensive and received free school meals. Careers guidance was limited, I had no professional role models and little encouragement to have a career or to study.
As a result, for many years I lacked direction and was ignorant of the full potential I could reach.
About 10 people from my school went to university and I was one of them.
Despite the lack of guidance, I have managed to succeed in my career.
