Solicitors offering legal services to the public from unregulated entities

The new Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, introduced on 25 November 2019, allow solicitors to deliver non-reserved legal services to the public from within a business not regulated by a legal services regulator.

This practice note offers support to solicitors who work, or are considering working, in this environment and outlines the regulatory requirements.

This practice note is the Law Society’s view of good practice in this area, and is not legal advice. For more information see the legal status.
