Doing legal business in Indonesia

Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and predicted to be one of the top five economies globally by 2050.

Trade relations between the UK and Indonesia are strong, with a UK-Indonesia joint trade review announced in October 2019. In the 12 months to March 2019, UK's trade with Indonesia was worth £2.7 billion.

The country is one of the UK government's four EU negotiation priorities, and we’re contributing to trade discussions by providing information on barriers to trade and engaging with stakeholders. 

Practising in Indonesia

Foreign lawyers and law firms are permitted to practice in Indonesia in association with local Indonesian firms.

There are no restrictions on foreign lawyers working on a ‘fly-in, fly-out' basis.
