Adrienne Edgerley-Harris’ legal roots are in Winchester. She did her training contract with the Hampshire County Council – mainly childcare work and advocacy – and then became a partner with Slater and Gibbons in Winchester, continuing her childcare work, as well as doing conveyancing, wills, and probate.
While there, she was invited to join the Legal Aid Board appeal panel.

Adrienne also became the first woman solicitor on the committee of Hampshire Incorporated Law Society (HILS) and was subsequently elected its president.

Later, she went on to work for the Legal Aid Board, which included managing the Criminal Defence Service.

Adrienne was head of regulatory policy at the Law Society, and has worked for the SRA, managing advisory visits from the Practice Standards Unit to firms across England and Wales.

More recently, she was director of compliance in a large Surrey firm and has now returned to Winchester as the practice manager for Shentons Solicitors.

She is chair of the Regulatory sub-committee of HILS.
