The UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets out key principles, rights and obligations when processing personal data. It sits alongside the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and incorporates the EU GDPR. The UK GDPR is broadly similar to the EU GDPR but, following Brexit, it allows the UK government the flexibility to review and amend its provisions. This page brings together guidance and support for solicitors to help you and your firm understand the regulations.

The Law Society is the independent professional body for solicitors. We are the voice of solicitors, driving excellence in the profession and safeguarding the rule of law.
