Andrew trained at a commercial firm in London, qualifying in 1990.
He then made a complete change of career path and moved to Brighton to work for a criminal defence firm, almost entirely legal aid.
In 1995 he set up his own firm, Bishop and Light, with a partner.
He has practised in Brighton and Hove ever since, mostly in criminal defence but also, for 10 years, as a Mental Health Tribunal panel lawyer.
Andrew has Higher Rights of Audience (Crime) and has been his firm's compliance officer for legal practice (COLP) and legal aid contract manager from the inception of those roles.
