David Patient

David trained at Travers Smith, joining the firm's corporate department in 1992. He became a partner in 1999 and, in the same year, opened the firm's Paris office which practices exclusively English law.

David joined the firm's partnership board and remuneration committee in 2010, and was chair of the firm's international board from 2010 to 2015, when he became managing partner.

He stepped down as managing partner at the end of his second term in June 2021.

David was a member of the Law Society's International Issues Committee for six years, until August 2021, and is currently the membership officer of the International Bar Association's law firm management committee.
