Denise Lester was elected to the children law seat of the Law Society Council in July 2013.

She has practised family law since 1984 – solely since 1994 – and is a solicitor at McCormacks Law, covering all aspects of family law and legal aid.

Denise is a franchise supervisor in family law and a member of the Family and Children Law Accreditation schemes. She is also a Resolution-accredited specialist in domestic abuse, private law and abduction.

She has expertise in Jewish issues arising out of family law and is an elected member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and sits on their family law group.

She specialises in both private and public children law including cases with an international element including forced marriage cases.

Denise regularly comments on family law in the national and international media and has provided advice in relation to story development and script advice for various TV productions.
