Laura Uberoi is a senior real estate finance solicitor with Macfarlanes and has also spent a significant amount of time as in-house counsel.

Laura is also a former president of Westminster & Holborn Law Society and a member of the City of London Law Society main committee and editorial board.

Before becoming a solicitor, Laura worked with young people in detention facilities across the UK and separately on capital punishment cases for the Texas Defender Service in the USA.

Laura mentors students through a variety of schemes, including with Change100 and IntoUniversity and has assisted with local free legal advice centres for many years.

She is a former trustee of the national children’s charity, Potential Plus UK, and continues to volunteer with them.

Laura has also lectured on human rights and war crimes in the Hague and continues to teach law across the world, including at the University of Cambridge and the University of Melbourne.
