How to apply

Our Risk and Compliance Accreditation is a quality mark for individuals to demonstrate that they have expertise in risk and compliance, legal practice or anti-money laundering.

To apply for initial accreditation, you’ll need to:

  • meet the eligibility requirements of the level you choose
  • submit a detailed application
  • have passed the appropriate exam

The application process takes around six to eight weeks. It can take longer if we receive high volumes of applications or if you do not give us all the information we need.

Step 2: Complete the mandatory exam

Before you apply for each level of the accreditation, you must complete and pass the relevant mandatory exam.

The exams are administered by the Law Society. Bookings will open shortly.

Dates may be cancelled or postponed in the event of insufficient demand or events outside our control.

Fees

Registration for the exam costs £51. The fee payable for each exam is set out below:

Advanced (Anti-money Laundering) £474 + VAT

The registration and exam fees are payable when booking your exam.

All applicants must complete an online exam.

Step 3: Complete the form

Once you’ve passed the relevant exam, complete the application form (Word 576 KB) in Microsoft Word.

Step 4: Submit your application

Your completed application is made up of:

  • your application form
  • confirmation of successfully passing the relevant exam

Do not send files larger than 18 MB. If necessary, send your supporting documents in separate emails.

Step 5: Pay the application fee

We’ll send you an invoice when we receive your application.

Step 6: Accreditation

Our accreditation team will review and assess your application.

We’ll let you know the outcome of your application once we’ve received your payment.

Appeals

If your application is unsuccessful, we’ll refund your membership fee.

You may appeal against our decision.
