How to apply: Risk and Compliance Accreditation
Applying is quick and easy. Follow these simple steps to kickstart your accreditation journey:
- check you meet the eligibility requirements of your chosen level
- submit a comprehensive and detailed application
- pass the relevant exam
Step 1: Read the guidance
Before you begin your application, you must read our:
- general scheme application criteria and guidance (PDF 325 KB)

Step 2: Complete the mandatory exam
Before you apply for each level of the accreditation, you must complete and pass the relevant mandatory exam.
The exams are administered by the Law Society.

Exam preparation training
We've developed a series of engaging and interactive courses that will help you master the topics and skills you need for the exams.
Our courses are delivered by experienced trainers who will guide you through the exam format, content and expectations.
You will also get the chance to practice with mock questions, receive feedback and ask questions.

Exam fees
Registration for the exam costs £51.
The fee payable for each exam is set out below:

Practical Anti-Money Laundering | £525 + VAT |
The registration and exam fees are already included in the total.
Step 3: Complete the form
Once you’ve passed the relevant exam, complete the application form (Word 208 KB) in Microsoft Word.
Step 4: Submit your application
Your completed application is made up of:
- your application form
- confirmation of successfully passing the relevant exam
Do not send files larger than 18 MB. If necessary, send your supporting documents in separate emails.
Submit your application by email
Once we receive your application, we will send you an invoice.

We will review and assess your application and let you know the outcome after we receive the payment.
The accreditation process takes around six to eight weeks.
It can take longer if we receive high volumes of applications or if you do not give us all the information we need.
Appeals
If your application is unsuccessful, we will refund your membership fee. Application fees are not refundable.
You may appeal against our decision.
