In 1923, there were four women solicitors admitted to the legal profession. Over the last century, women have made significant progress now making up two-thirds of law graduates and 64% of newly qualified solicitors. However, only 35% of law firm partners are women. In addition, the numbers of women leaving the profession are significant. More needs to be done to retain women in the legal profession; this involves maintaining a pipeline of talent by supporting, promoting, and progressing women through all stages of their career journey.
