In 2022, the SRA launched a Workplace Culture Thematic Review in which 200 firms participated. They noted that ‘a poor culture not only affects personal wellbeing but also ethical behaviour, competence and ultimately the standard of service received by clients’.
Approx 25% of those who stated that their firms do not have a positive workplace culture identified issues including being overworked, pressured to meet targets and bullying behaviours.
As a result, the SRA has recently published guidance on Workplace environment: risks of failing to protect and support colleagues. This means all solicitors need to be aware of their obligations to follow and comply with the guidance. And there are consequences set out by the regulator for firms and organisations who don’t comply.
In this session we will learn what firms and organisations need to do to comply with the new guidance.
