The Pro Bono Recognition List of England and Wales, under the patronage of the lady chief justice, recognises solicitors and barristers who have given 25 hours of legal pro bono assistance in the last year. Nominations for 2025 open on 13 January.
The Pro Bono Recognition List recognises all solicitors and barristers who have given 25 or more hours of legal pro bono assistance in the previous calendar year.
The list will be published annually. Find out who made the list in 2024!
The list has been set up under the sponsorship of the attorney general’s pro bono committee, with support from:
- the Access to Justice Foundation
- Advocate
- Advocates for International Development
- the Bar Council
- the Clinical Legal Education Organisation
- the In House Pro Bono Group
- the Law Officers
- the Law Society
- LawWorks
- the National Pro Bono Centre
- TrustLaw
Lady Sue Carr, the lady chief justice of England and Wales, is the patron of the recognition list.
How to apply
Nominations for 2025 open on 13 January until 7 March.
If you're a solicitor, nominate yourself using the online form.
If you're a firm or organisation, nominate your staff using the excel form (11.5 KB) and email to contact@probonorecognitionlist.org.uk.
