What should I include on the back of my invoices?
I am reviewing the standard information on our firm's invoices and have complied with SRA requirements and have also included the firm's VAT number. Is there any prescribed information that I must include on the back of the invoices?
There’s no specific information that you must include on the back of your invoice.
Clients must be made aware of their right to challenge or complain about your invoice. This is usually included in the client care letter or terms of business.
Some firms, as a reminder, choose to include the following information on the back of their invoice.
This is because certain time limits apply from the date of the delivery of the invoice:
- information on charging interest and the rate
- information on detailed assessment pursuant to Part III of the Solicitors Act 1974
