David has held a number of positions over the years including immediate past president of the Yorkshire Union of Law Societies, director and past president of Leeds Law Society, under sheriff of West Yorkshire, trustee of the Yorkshire Regiment and chair of the Yorkshire Legal Support Trust.

David Barraclough qualified in June 1974 and was articled in Bradford with Last Suddards (now Squire Patton Boggs).

He then worked in Leeds for most of his post-qualification career specialising in commercial property.

David practised at Booth & Co (now Addleshaw Goddard) where he was a partner for 14 years and Lupton Fawcett where he was a partner/director for 10 years.

Prior to retirement in 2016, he was with RadcliffesLeBrasseur.
