Regional diversity and inclusion forums

  • Having been set up in autumn 2017, our regional diversity and inclusion (D&I) forums have quickly become a key part of our work.

    Organised around the same regions as our relationship management teams, these forums offer an opportunity to influence our work and better support members of the profession and their organisations.

    What do the forums do?

    • Meet quarterly to discuss issues concerning those in a particular region and share best practice
    • Advise the Law Society on how to improve D&I within their organisations and region
    • Help organise more in-depth training and meetings on particular topics, for example, mental health and gender pay gap reporting

    Who can join the forums?

    • D&I professionals
    • HR professionals
    • Partners, in-house counsel and other legal practitioners
    • Local Law Society representatives
    • Anyone else involved in D&I within law firms and in-house legal departments

    What do forum members think about the forums?

    • They offer the chance to discuss issues of mutual concern relatively informally
    • Even though people are at different stages of their D&I journey, everyone leaves with at least one new idea
    • They provide an opportunity to hear about what the Law Society is doing, so that it can be publicised to colleagues
