Mapping LGBT+ migration

Law Society RainbowLGBT+ immigration rights are a relatively recent innovation and, in the UK, were hard fought for.

Moving around the world presents specific challenges for LGBT+ individuals, couples and families, quite often to the extreme of needing to flee to find safety and security.

This podcast focuses on current themes and prospects for the future of LGBT+ clients who are moving or have moved to the UK, drawing on the experience of our speaker Tim Barnden - himself a gay lawyer with more than two decades of experience in practice in this area - to give an insight into key themes in practising in related areas of law.

This podcast covers:

  • a historical and legal/cultural overview
  • rules for couples
  • protecting refugees, and
  • prospects for the future.
