International Bar Association guide to legal aid principles
In this podcast, Catherine Reed speaks to Lucy Scott Moncrieff about the International Bar Association’s recently published guide to legal aid principles and how the UK is measuring up against those principles.
Lucy Scott-Moncrieff is a solicitor and judge.
She has worked in legal aid throughout her career, and the firm that she started in 1987 still undertakes legal aid work, as well as private client and company and commercial.
Lucy was Law Society president in 2012/13, and chaired its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee from 2013 until September 2018.
Lucy sits as a Mental Health Tribunal judge, and has recently been appointed to sit in the Court of Protection. Since 2016 she has been commissioner for standards at the House of Lords. Lucy is also a member of the International Bar Associations Access to Justice and Legal Aid Committee.
